What the hell I'm doing here

So, a while ago, I decided I should write more. I quite like writing and it's not one of those things that you get better at by not doing. So this is me doing that. At the same time, I'm kinda trying to learn to code slightly intensively, which leaves time to write carefully and in a considered manner at somewhat of a premium. So I'm just going to write some other way instead. Every week (for a while at least... would love to commit to a year but know me better than that) I'm going to sum up that week at the course, and also try to write something longer on something else. Anything else. The subject isn't the point, not really. And it won't be good, by the way. This isn't really for that. I mean, it'll be ok, but nothing special. But that's fine - it'll be a start. Eventually, maybe, I'll write somewhat well. And that'll be something.

This blog, in particular, will be about me learning to develop websites. Maybe some design stuff will slip in, but the focus will be on development (as mine really should be). The other stuff will be elsewhere, but I kinda wanted to write a statement of intent for my own benefit. Here is me setting out a thing I am going to be doing for the next short chunk of my life. I mean, most of that chunk will be consist of learning to code, but I'm assured you can learn to code without writing about it all the time. You can't really improve writing without writing (though the writing shouldn't necessarily always be about writing - that tends to irritate people). So I'm writing.

Essentially, I'm going to dump an entire train of thought, with all the random accompanying passengers along for the ride, into a blog post every week that'll roughly be on the subject of coding. I can't promise it'll be well written, or particularly instructional for anyone else, but it could be somewhat entertaining from a certain angle. Hopefully, at the very least, this'll track my improvement as a programmer, but it may just be the diary of my perpetually looming mental breakdown. But, hey, at least that'll be something.
